Historic Whistler House

Dating back to the 1600s, this historic luxury holiday cottage is in the heart of the city. Partially constructed from the historic city walls, the house is decorated and furnished to a high standard and is perfect for families and friends looking for a tranquil city break. Newly prepared for rent in 2017, the house oozes charm and character, offering all modern amenities for comfortable stay. It is perfectly located less than 300m from York Minster and York train station.

 

Our grade II listed house is situated along a cobbled street leading down to the picturesque river Ouse and Museum Gardens. The property is set out over 3 floors with a master suite with en-suite bathroom with bath on the top floor. The smaller bedroom with double bed on the first floor has an en-suite bathroom with shower. The larger adjacent bedroom has a king size bed and a full size single day bed. A travel cot is also available on request.
There is a further small shower room and WC on the ground floor.


All towels and bedding are provided.

 

There is an extendable dining table in the kitchen that can seat 7 guests, as well as 3 bar stools at the kitchen island that can be used for eating. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking and entertaining. The kitchen is equipped with high spec facilities such as an induction hob, boiling water tap and wine cooler.
The private garden has dining furniture for guests wanting to relax outside and look out on to the river.

 

Although there is no parking with the house there is plenty of parking options within just a few minutes walk of the house. The nearest main car park is Marygate Car Park on Frederick Street, which is £15 per day. Alternatively, websites such as Just Park, or Parkopedia offer parking for as little as £6 per day which is often within a 5-10 minute walk.

Guests will access the property through a security code operated gate through to the back courtyard. The guests will be able to use the private courtyard garden with a comfortable seating area.

Please note that the house has long-term residential neighbours whose privacy needs to be respected. Parties and noise outside after 10pm will not be tolerated.
